With so many new beauty products competing for customers’ attention, it can be hard to be heard. We leveraged new technologies to create launch campaigns that were interactive, future-forward, and—best of all—fun. 

 

Play With Pop

2016

To launch Clinique’s new Pop trend lipstick line, we designed an interactive music video with Swedish pop star Zara Larsson. Viewers swiped between lipstick colors to watch four different cuts of Larsson’s single, Lush Life. Each lipstick color changed not only the genre of the song, but also the makeup, choreography, lighting, and environment and then drove to a custom landing page where customers could easily compare and shop each look. By separating the audio and visual components and then resynchronizing them in the browser, we enabled the video to play without using a platform like YouTube, making this the first interactive video to run inline on your smartphone. Created in partnership with Wieden & Kennedy.

Matte Makeover

2016

We launched Clinique Pop Matte with a technically advanced digital campaign aimed at showing how comfortable the formula was. Playing off the street-style beatboxing trend, the campaign centered around a fun, interactive soundboard where users could play different lips/sounds and see the new lipsticks in action, and featured a wide range of social assets. Created in partnership with Carrot Creative.
